Abdulkareem Yahaya Adelodun PhD is a senior lecturer in the department of Civil Engineering, Faculty of Engineering and Technology, University of Ilorin, Ilorin, Nigeria. He studied at the Government College, Keffi from 1963 to 1969 and proceeded to Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria where he obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering with second class upper in 1973, had his Masters Degree in Traffic and Transportation Engineering from the University of Sheffield, Sheffield, England in 1977 and another Masters Degree in Transportation Engineering and Planning from The Polytechnic University Brooklyn, New York USA in 1983 and later obtained his PhD in Transportation Engineering and Planning 1987 in the same University.

Dr Y.A Abdulkareem has more than 30 years of experience in lecturing and research works at both Polytechnic and University and he has authored 8 published journals. He has attended several distinguished conferences and workshops within Nigeria, Ghana, USA and UK. He is an Associate Member, Institute of Civil Engineers, Britain; Member, British Institution of Highway Engineers; Member, American Public Transit Association 1983; Member Institute of Transportation Engineers; Member, Nigerian Society of Engineers No. 02976; Registered Engineer, COREN Registration Number R4189.

He has served in various capacities at the Community, State and National levels. He was Rector of Kwara State Polytechnic, Ilorin between 2006 to January 2009. He was a member of the Technical Working Group of Transport Thematic Unit of Nigerian Vision 20:2020, National Planning Commission, Ministry of National Planning, Abuja April-July 2009. He was the acting Rector, Kwara State Polytechnic, Ilorin from 2004 to January 2006. Member, Committee on the Planning and Implementation of Proposed Kwara State University of Science and Technology from 2002 to 2003; Senior Fellow, Civil Engineering Department, University of Ilorin 1999-2003, Member Investigation Committee into Theft of Computers in the Department of Mathematics/Computers in 2000; Associate Lecturer, Civil Engineering Department, University of Ilorin from 1998 to 1999; Visiting Senior Lecturer, Civil Engineering Department, University of Ilorin 1997-1998; Member, Task Force on Accreditation of Courses in Technical Colleges in Kwara State in 1996-1997; Member, Kwara State Committee on the Beautification of Ilorin Metropolis 1992-1994; He was the Chairman, National Redemption Council Caretaker Committee for Ilorin West Local Government in 1994; Member Governing Council of Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile-Ife 1987-1993.
